I’m a light that is meant to shine, and so are you.

Like most authors, my life is infused into my work. I grew up hearing my parents' crazy adventures from when my dad was an undercover narcotics agent and met my mom when she worked at the DA's office. It made for some great stories and definitely shapes my writing. 

My love for vintage trinkets, day dresses, small towns, old luxuries, mysteries, making the most of every day, and empowering young adults to naturally find their way into the pages of my novels. When writing, I love combining mystery with hope, raw emotion with elegance, and romance with innocence. 

Aside from writing, mentoring young adults is one of the most transformative parts of my life. Having friends sit down with a good book and a mentor, parent—or anybody really—and read it together is a big reason I write. Connection with the book is one thing, but connection with others is where my heart lies.

Speaking of connection, I love connecting with the Lord each day, spending time with my husband and three amazing teenage daughters. We have a love for doing crazy adventures, scrapbooking, singing, and up-cycling anything we can get our hands on. There's something about taking broken things and bringing new life or purpose into them—a beauty in it, really. 

If I had to be known for just one thing… okay, maybe three… I want to be known for loving God, loving others, and being myself.
